Tata Motors on Wednesday launched a new range of compact truck, Tata Intra — a small commercial vehicle developed under the modular platform. The company claimed it was India’s first compact truck and with the launch, it created a new segment in the small commercial vehicles space.
The new product, which sits above the company’s Tata Ace range, comes in two variants – V10 and V20. The Tata Intra is powered by future ready engines, which are scalable to BS-VI norms. The Intra V20 comes with 1400 cc DI Engine with 52KW (70 HP) & INTRA V10 is powered with 800 CC DI engine delivering 30KW (40 hp), offering quick acceleration, faster trips and low turnaround time.
Tata Motors currently has a market share of 40.1 per cent in the SCV and pick-up segment. The company has already sold over 20 lakh units of Tata Ace till date.
