You cannot, however, apply for a permanent driving licence directly. RTO form 4 is used to apply for a driving licence in a specific state. Applicants must also be at least 18 years old to operate a motorbike or four-wheeler equipped with gear. Typically, the licence is valid for 20 years, or until the candidate reaches the age of 50. The second section comprises personal information, and the third section is the certificate of driving competency. Female candidates who are married may also write the names of their husbands.
