As per the new rule, an individual can get hold of a driving licence without giving the driving licence test at the RTO Offices. However, to get a driving licence without a test, it is compulsory for the applicant to have completed the mandatory training from an accredited training centre. Get Driving Licence Without Taking Test At RTO

The government has laid down new rules regarding the issuance of driving licence in India. Earlier, it was mandatory for a person to give a driving test at the local RTO only after which he/she can get a driving licence. However, with new guidelines notified by the road ministry, cAccording to the new guidelines, a candidate has to complete the mandatory training at the accredited driver training centres. These centres offer excellent driving courses and once a candidate completes the training, he/she will be exempted from the driving test at the time of issuance of the licence. It must be noted that the central government has the authority to make rules regarding the accreditation of training centres according to section 8 of the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act 2019.

The driving training centres are well equipped with a dedicated test track and simulators to offer top-notch training to the applicants. A large number of road accidents occur because of less awareness among the citizens. Hence, these centres would focus on imparting the right knowledge and skills required for safe driving.

Important Factors About Driving Licence Without Test Rule

  • The new rule will come into effect from 1st July 2021
  • The courses that can be availed at training centres are remedial and refresher courses
  • The course would be categorized into theory and practice
  • The candidates will be given teaching about ethical and courteous behaviour on public roads
  • The accredited driving training centres will also offer industry-specific specialized training
  • The training centres will be granted accreditation for 5 years, however, they can be renewed
  • For Light Motor Vehicle, the duration of the course would be of 29 hours over the period of 4 weeks from the date of commencement of the course at the training centre
  • The duration for medium and heavy motor vehicles is decided to be 38 hours over the period of 6 weeks from the date of commencement of the course at the training centre
