It is necessary for all categories of motor vehicles running on roads in Haryana to pay the road tax. According to Section 213 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. The Transport Department of Haryana has the authority to determine the tax structure. As per the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, nobody is permitted to operate any vehicle without paying road tax besides those who are either wholly or partially exempted by the State Government. Haryana Road Tax Online Payment Process

The Haryana Government has imposed road tax on all types of motor vehicles including private or passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles. If a vehicle is found to be used without paying the road tax, then the vehicle owner is liable to pay hefty fines. Instead of following the conventional method to pay road tax offline, you can now pay Haryana road tax online as well. To submit road tax online in Haryana, follow these steps:

  1. Open the official website of the Haryana state government transport department, click here

  2. Press the ‘Online Services for Citizen’ tab available on the homepage

  3. Next, select the ‘Motor Vehicle Tax Related Online Services’ from the given options

  4. For vehicles registered in a different state, press ‘Click Here to Pay Online Road Tax for Other State’ option and select your state and service name. For vehicle registered in Haryana only, select ‘Click Here to Pay Online Road Tax for State’ option and then select “Pay your Tax” in the online services tab

  5. Proceed further by entering the vehicle-related information such as registration number, model number, year of purchase etc to determine the road tax

  6. Once done, click on “Calculate road tax” to check the tax amount

  7. Choose the payment gateway, pay the road tax online using debit/credit card or Net Banking

  8. Save the fee receipt for future reference

Alternatively, you can also make use of Parivahan Website to submit the tax online by following these steps:

  1. Visit the Parivahan Sewa portal

  2. Under the ‘Online Services’ tab, select Vehicle Related Services

  3. Select Haryana as your state

  4. Register yourself, or log in if you already registered

  5. Under the ‘Online Services’ section, choose ‘Pay Vehicle Tax’

  6. Submit your registration number, last 5 digits of chassis number and press on the Generate OTP button

  7. An OTP will be sent on your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP and click on Submit

  8. Select the tax mode

  9. Add your permit details, if applicable

  10. You will see the total payment amount as per the tax mode selected by you. Click on Confirm Payment

  11. Select your preferred payment gateway and submit the payment online

Haryana Government has levied road tax on all motor vehicles types including private or passenger, transport and non-transport vehicles. The tax, however, may vary depending upon several factors associated with the vehicle like its age, place of origin, size, weight, engine capacity etc. The road tax is calculated on the basis of the overall cost of the vehicle and collected only once, thus once you have paid the road tax in Haryana, you can use the vehicle in this state throughout its operating life. 2 % of the cost of the vehicle is payable one-time.

Belonging to Hospital/Clinics/Nursing Home earning

6 % of the cost of the vehicle is payable one-time.

For Educational Institution Vehicles:

To verify the validity of Haryana Road Tax Receipt, open the website link,  and click on the Status tab on the homepage. Choose “Verify Receipt” from the drop-down menu. Next, enter your registration number and receipt number to verify your receipt.

How to Print Payment Receipt for Road Tax Payment in Haryana?

To print payment receipt for road tax payment in Haryana, open the portal,  and click on the Status tab on the homepage. Choose “Reprint Receipt/Form” from the drop-down menu. Select Reprint Receipt again and enter the required information to print the payment receipt.
