Process to Find Vehicle Owner Details Using Vahan Website

The government of India designed the Vahan website intending to collect all details about motor vehicles registration in one place. The website was launched in the year 2011 by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways in collaboration with the National Informatics Centre. The website has data of more than 25 crore motor vehicles running across the country. Here’s a step by step guide to finding vehicle owner details using the Vahan website:

Step 1: Open the official website of Vahan
Step 2: Press the “Know your vehicle details” tab
Step 3: A new page will open
Step 4: Enter the registration number, verification code and click on the “Search vehicle” tab

Once you have entered the vehicle number, you will be able to view the details about the vehicle owner.

Why Do You Need to Find Vehicle Owner Details Online?

Have you ever been asked by the traffic police to pay the fine for not carrying your vehicle’s documents? Well, the new guidelines by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways have permitted vehicle owners to ignore carrying hard copies of the documents if they have the digital copies stored in the DigiLockers.
