Parivahan vehicle recall:

Over the years, India has gradually but steadily firmed up its attitude and rules on vehicle recalls in the country. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has launched a new programme that will allow vehicle owners in India to directly file complaints with the Indian government about any issues with their automobiles. To that purpose, the Road Ministry has created a ‘Vehicle Recall Portal’ on the Parivahan website of the Indian government. Vehicle owners will be able to make complaints about problems in their vehicles using this platform. This measure took effect on April 1, 2021.

Here’s a quick rundown of how the new notification system will work:

The owner will be asked to file a complaint first. MoRTH will conduct screening, analysis, and investigation of the issue based on the complaints received and may recall the vehicle if necessary.
