RTO Form 22: Initial Certificate Of Compliance With Pollution Standards, Safety Standards Of Components And Road-Worthiness

The present methods for implementing transportation emissions standards in India are founded in the Motor Vehicles Act of 1989, which assigns the task of regulating vehicle emissions to the Central Government. At the moment, that position is provided by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), which establishes emissions standards that individual states must follow.

A Certificate of Roadworthiness (also known as a “roadworthy” or “RWC”) certifies that a vehicle is safe to drive on public roads. Some countries require a roadworthy certificate when selling a vehicle. It may also be necessary when the vehicle is re-registered, as well as to clear any outstanding notifications.
