Ashok Leyland collaborates with Tamil Nadu Health Department to fight COVID-19

Ashok Leyland has announced its collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Health Department, saying that it has been closely working with the department to contain the spread of COVID-19. The company has been working on initiatives such as supplying generators, disinfectants and protective chemical guard suit to hospitals in Tamil Nadu.

In order to facilitate emergency logistics, Ashok Leyland has deployed ten vehicles, along with drivers, to be put into use by the Tamil Nadu Health Department. The vehicles deployed include 8 Dost and 2 ICVs.

In a statement, Balachandar NV, President – HR, Communications, CSR, Ashok Leyland, said, “Staying true to our brand promise of ‘Aapki Jeet. Hamari Jeet.’, we at Ashok Leyland are leaving no stone unturned to help the community at large. We shall work with the Government at every step and stay supportive of all their initiatives in the coming days,”.

To add on to the help, the company is also planning on supplying the health department with protective gear such as 3 ply masks, N95 masks, gloves, handwash, sanitizers and bodysuits.
