MoRTH to provide list of dhabas and repair shops on website

In order to facilitate the movement of trucks for the supply of essential items and to provide assistance to the truck drivers on duty, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has launched a dashboard on its website that will provide a list of functional dhabas and repair shops available across the country.

This comprehensive list will be subject to updates as states will keep on giving permits to more dhabas that will comply to safety and health protocols. In states like Uttar Pradesh and Assam, a list of permitted dhabas has been released. Meanwhile in some states, instead of dhabas, truck drivers can get food at various outlets of oil marketing companies and NHAI toll plazas.

“The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has created a dashboard link on its website for providing list and details of Dhabas and Truck repair shops available across the country by various organisations like NHAI, States, Oil Marketing companies. The list can be accessed at https://morth.nic.in/dhabas-truck-repair-shops-opened-during-covid-19,” the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry has also activated the National Highways Authority of India’s centralised number 1033 where drivers/cleaners can call to find information about dhabas and repair shops along national highways.

According to officials at MoRTH, this initiative is aimed at making the supply chain operations seamless and safe for truck drivers and helpers involved.

The statement further added, “A regular contact is being maintained with various stake holders particularly States/UTs, Oil Marketing Companies(OMCs), etc in providing information which is then updated on the dashboard link on MoRTH website.”.
