Trucks stuck at check points will now be allowed to pass

In order to contain the spread of the deadly Corona virus across the country, the Indian Prime Minister called for a 21-day strict lockdown for the entire nation on March 24. This lockdown, however, resulted in many trucks being stuck at check points and highway borders.

To help the drivers who are stranded, the Ministry of Home Affairs has released directives stating that all the trucks stranded at these points must be released with a one-time clearance to reach their destinations. The committee will also be responsible for ensuring how essentials and other supplies will traverse during this lockdown.

As per the committee, state administrations have been directed to let empty truck pass, and to let all currently stuck trucks to move on to their destination. Along with that, they have also regulated movement going forward to be only for essential supplies.
